Something I look forward to every year is my annual Frasier February rewatch of the show. I watch some favorite episodes throughout the year, but in February I rewatch the entire series from start to finish.

It’s been my tradition to do this for several years now, and this year before Frasier February begins I thought I’d fill in the gaps in my Frasier knowledge by watching some of the Cheers episodes.

I’m focusing on episodes that are relevant to Frasier’s back story (Diane, how he met Lilith, Freddy’s birth) and some that are relevant to Frasier as they are mentioned later in the series. I am going to watch the episodes that John Mahoney and Peri Gilpin are in as I have not seen them yet. I also plan to watch the crossover episode of Wings with Frasier and Lilith.

• 6:8 Bidding on the Boys Lilith bids on Sam during a charity auction Rebecca has arranged at the bar. Frasier isn’t pleased about it.

• 7:16 The Cranemakers Frasier and Lilith decide to leave civilization behind. January 2025 update: I discovered a familiar face in this episode. James Winkler plays a lawyer who comes to Cheers to talk to Carla. In Frasier James Winkler plays a lawyer as well, Mr. Giroux in episode 3:19 Crane vs Crane.

• 10:16 One Hugs the Other Doesn’t we meet Nanny G, a character who will return in Frasier. In this episode she is played by Emma Thompson.
• 10:20 Smotherly Love we don’t see Lilith and Frasier get married on Cheers but in this episode they agree to a vow renewal ceremony to please Lilith’s mother who is upset she missed their wedding

• 11:5 Do Not Forsake Me O’ My Postman John Mahoney is in this episode as Sy Flembeck, a commercial jingle writer
• 11:6 and 11:7 Teaching With the Enemy and The Girl in the Plastic Bubble Lilith has an affair and Frasier goes out on a ledge. These episodes are referred to frequently in Frasier.
• 11:21 Woody Gets an Election Peri Gilpin is in this episode as a reporter interviewing Woody when he runs for public office
• 11:26, 11:27, and 11:28 this trio of episodes wraps up the Cheers story
